Welcome to
Practical Bible!
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16 - 17)
This site exists because we believe in
the beauty and treasure of the Bible.

The Bible is God’s great gift to humanity. Within its pages we find words that lead to life and blessing. Most importantly, Scripture reveals God Himself—inviting us to know Him and live in relationship with Him. Our hope is to offer practical resources that help you understand Scripture, delight in its message, and grow in faithful obedience to Jesus.

How to Get Started
Inductive study means slowing down, paying attention, and letting God’s Word speak. We aim to understand the message God gave the original audience and then faithfully apply it in our own lives.

If you haven’t done so already, start by reading the Instructions for Inductive Bible Study.

A Simple Path to Using our Studies
1. Read the whole book. Before studying individual passages, take time to read the entire book. This helps you see the big picture, major themes, and the overall flow of the message.

2. Read the background notes. Each study begins with historical and literary background for the book. This gives you a sense of the setting, structure, and key themes that shape the message.

3. Study the passage for yourself. Select a passage (we recommend going in order) and download the manuscript. Use it to observe the text, mark repeated words or ideas, and begin asking questions of the passage.
4. Read the notes afterward. Once you’ve done your own study, you can read the working notes and commentary. These are designed to help you go deeper, not replace your engagement with the text.

About

I’m Craig Weyrens. For over 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES). In my current role as Associate Regional Secretary for Europe, I focus on leadership development, equipping and supporting leaders across the region. One of my greatest joys is guiding people as they study the Scriptures and watching them grow in their love for God and His Word.

Originally from the United States, I’ve been blessed to call Bulgaria home for the past 20 years, where I live with my wife, Tanya. I hold a Master of Arts in Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary, which has shaped my approach to intercultural ministry. I’m also the author of Practical Discipleship and Practical Evangelism.
When I’m not working, you’ll often find me reading or enjoying walks with Tanya in the beautiful Bulgarian countryside.
This site is a collection of resources born out of my work with students and leaders over the years. Here you’ll find Bible studies, tools for studying Scripture, and various articles I’ve written. My hope is that these materials help you engage deeply with God’s Word and practically live out its truths in your own life. Thank you for visiting—I hope you enjoy and find these resources helpful!
